Can you turn Microsoft Copilot's training off?
For Microsoft 365 Copilot/organizational accounts, prompts and Graph data are not used to train foundation models by default. For consumer Copilot, use Copilot privacy settings and the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard to manage model-training/data controls where available; delete or export data separately from the dashboard.
What happens to your data when you use Microsoft Copilot?
Microsoft Copilot data handling depends on where you use it. Microsoft 365 Copilot and organizational Copilot Chat process prompts, responses, and Microsoft Graph data under Microsoft 365 commitments and do not use that data to train foundation models. Consumer Copilot collects prompts, responses, and usage data under Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and has separate privacy controls/settings for eligible users.
