What I encountered, again and again, were people failed by the explanations. By the jargon. By the assumption that the person asking the question was the problem — rather than the person doing the explaining.
When AI arrived, I watched the same pattern repeat. Intelligent people, who had navigated genuinely complicated things their whole careers, being made to feel behind, or slow, or too old for this particular conversation.
