- What it does
- Always-on AI agents inside ChatGPT, announced 29 September 2026. Each dot has its own cloud computer and browser, connects to apps through ChatGPT's plugins, works toward a goal in the background and learns from your feedback. Runs on OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra.
- Cost
- Included (one dot) with ChatGPT Pro, which starts at US$100 a month (Pro 200 and Pro 500 cost more), and with Business Premium. Not on Free, Go, Plus or Business Standard.
- Where it works
- ChatGPT on web, desktop and mobile, plus Slack and Microsoft Teams; texting is promised. Pro users in the UK, EU and Switzerland can't use dots yet.
- Safety and approvals
- You can set rules to allow, block or require approval for actions; sensitive steps such as password changes always need your OK, and it signs in without showing your passwords to the model. OpenAI says dots can still make mistakes, so review anything consequential.
