Yes, unless you switch it off — and you can.
Can you turn Grok's training off?
On X: Settings and privacy → Privacy and safety → 'Grok & third-party collaborators' → turn off the option allowing your posts and interactions to be used for training. Also turn off conversation training inside Grok's own settings. For sensitive prompts, use Grok's Private Chat mode.
What happens to your data when you use Grok?
xAI collects your Grok conversations, your X posts, and your interaction data. How training works depends on where you use Grok: through X (the most common way), your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok are used for training by default unless you opt out, and for non-EU users your public X posts are used too. The standalone grok.com app offers a 'Private Chat' mode (ghost icon) that is never used for training and auto-deletes. Opting out is not retroactive.
