What I encountered — again and again — were people who had been failed by the explanations. By the jargon. By the assumption that the person asking the question was the problem, rather than the person doing the explaining.
When AI started becoming a thing that everyone was supposed to have an opinion on, I watched the same pattern repeat. Intelligent people — people who had navigated genuinely complicated things throughout their professional lives — being made to feel behind, or slow, or simply too old for this particular conversation.
That experience is both unnecessary and fixable.
