AI UnSpun
About Us

Because smart, capable adults were being made to feel stupid about technology.

Thirty years in IT. Thousands of hours helping people with computers, networks, systems, and every variety of thing that had gone wrong in ways it absolutely should not have gone wrong.

In all that time, the one thing I never once encountered was a person who was genuinely incapable of understanding technology. What I encountered — again and again — were people who had been failed by the explanations. By the jargon. By the assumption that the person asking the question was the problem, rather than the person doing the explaining.

When AI started becoming a thing that everyone was supposed to have an opinion on, I watched the same pattern repeat. Intelligent people — people who had navigated genuinely complicated things throughout their professional lives — being made to feel behind, or slow, or simply too old for this particular conversation.

That experience is both unnecessary and fixable.

This platform is the fix.

What we do

The practical version.

We teach AI tools — specifically the ones that are useful to people who are not already AI enthusiasts. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and the practical applications that actually save time and produce results in real working life. Not every tool. The right ones.

We do this in plain English. Step by step. With honesty about what works, what doesn’t, and what is being overclaimed by people who should know better. We do not water down the content because we think the audience can’t handle the real version. They can. They have been handling more complicated things than this for decades.

What you will not find here

Hand-holding, jargon dressed up as expertise, a watered-down version of what AI actually is, or content that mistakes your unfamiliarity with this specific technology for a general lack of capability.

What you will find

Tutorials that work, a community of people at the same stage, a growing library of prompts and templates you can use immediately, and a weekly digest that tells you what happened in AI — and what you can safely ignore.

The cast

Different people come to AI differently.

The ensemble exists because of this. Each of them reflects a different way of approaching AI. You will find yourself in at least one of them. That’s the point.

How we use AI

Transparent about the thing we teach.

A platform about AI that pretends not to use AI would be both dishonest and a little ironic.

Here is how it actually works: AI tools assist in research, content drafting, and production. Everything published — every tutorial, every digest, every Ask Kevin response — is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human being before it reaches you. The voice is human. The accountability is human. The judgment is human.

We are not trying to pass AI-generated work off as purely human-written. We are using AI the way we teach you to use it: as a tool that does some of the work, directed and approved by a person who is responsible for the result.

That transparency matters to us. If it matters to you too, you are probably in the right place.
